Blast off - DIY Rocket for Little Space Enthusiasts

This easy-to-make rocket is a great DIY toy for little space-enthusiasts. And you get the chance to learn something new.
Interesting facts about rockets:
- A rocket engine doesn’t need air to operate like a jet engine, which allows a rocket engine to work in space.
- The rocket was invented by the Chinese while using gunpowder.
- Yuri Gagarin was a cosmonaut who became the first human to journey into outer space.
Materials:
- Toilet paper rolls
- Paint and paintbrush
- Coloured paper
- Scissors
- Glue
Step 1.
Paint the toilet paper rolls. Lately, our boys have been huge fans of everything golden, so, their rocket is not a usual white one.

To make a cone, first, draw a circle.

Bring the two straight ends together by overlapping them and joining them along the glued part. Finally, glue the cone on top of the toilet paper roll
Cut out four small triangles to make the base for the rocket.

Make four small cuts at the bottom of the toilet paper and insert the triangles.
Step 5.
Cut strips out of red paper...

and glue them inside the rocket.

Step 6.
Blast off

You can also make a few windows, but my boys explained to me that the astronauts in this rocket have computers and radars and everything they need inside, and that there is no need for them to make any windows.
